“I Hate Birthdays”, performance with original song, Florida Focus, curated show of Florida artists selected by Ken Rollins, Studio@621, St. Petersburg, Florida, 2012 This was a performance during a curated exhibition that celebrated the career and birthday of Ken Rollins, who had been a director at four art museums. Performing as the Marquis-Sha-De, I hummed a tune as I walked, barefoot, slowly through the gallery during the opening. I sat on a chair I created that had a custom made cake on the floor in front of it. The cake had "I Hate Birthdays" written on it. I pulled my knife shoes out of a bag and put them on. Then I sang a song I wrote called "I Hate Birthdays" as I stomped the hell out of the cake. This performance is available for exhibitions, events and birthdays. |
